The interesting thing about life is that the ignorant are audacious and loud about their ignorance and they demand the courtesy that knowledge has to be silent.
Every statement of God to ensure the world knows that Jesus is the answer was loud. He could have revealed Jesus at a private baptismal pool with John but he did it publicly at Jordan with a loud voice from heaven – This is my beloved son in whom I am well pleased.
CRUCIFIED ON A HILL (SKULL HILL) Matthew 27:33; Mark 15:22; Luke 23:33; John 19:17).
Crucified Him on the elevated ground so that many could see. It is an undeniable historical fact that he was crucified and died. But more important is the fact that it was a skull hill called Golgotha to show that it was defeat over death.
DARKNESS DURING THE DAY
Darkness covered the land for 3 hours during the day 12 pm to 3 pm. Matt 27:45, Mark 15:25. He wasn’t the first one to be crucified, it’s been estimated that by the time Jesus was crucified, the Romans had crucified about 30,000 men in Palestine alone.
TEMPLE CURTAIN RENT
The Curtain that separated the Holy of Holies was torn, Heaven was making a loud noise that Judaism was not the way, and a better covenant had been enacted by the death of the Testator. It also signified that the dividing wall between Jews and Gentiles had been broken down. The fact that it was torn from top to bottom showed it was God’s work, not human effort.
THE EARTHQUAKE
Matthew 27:51 The earth quaked, and the rocks were split. Someone noted that the earthquake reflected the immensity of the “earth-shaking revolution that had just taken place with the splitting of the curtain (Holman New Testament).
THE DEAD RAISED-
Matt 27:52 the tombs were also opened and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep were raised. They showed up and men saw them. God was not silent about it. So that those who doubted Jesus as the resurrection and life will not argue the work of Salvation.
EMPTY TOMB Matthew 28:1-10
The enemies of the gospel of grace tried to change the narrative that his body was taken but the lie didn’t sell. He arose on the third day. He is alive. The empty tomb is the testimony, his bones have never and will never be found anywhere.
MADE APPEARANCE TO HIS DISCIPLES
He didn’t leave anybody in doubt, he came for Thomas alone, and he showed himself alive to 500 brethren. 1 Cor 15:6 and that He was seen by over five hundred brethren at once, of whom the greater part remain unto this present, but some have fallen asleep
A MIGHTY SOUND FROM HEAVEN
Acts 2:1-2 God could have baptized them without making a bang, but the world must hear about the gospel. That God is no longer angry with man. That the lamb had been slain in time and that heaven which man tried to reach right from the Tower of Babel had now come down to man.
It was that sound that gathered thousands in the Apostles so that they could be saved. Let nobody gaslight you to be silent about the gospel of God’s grace. It is to be preached loud, raise the volume, shout it at the top of your lungs. Sponsor it on Social Media. The gospel must be heard, all men must hear it.
