The believer needs to understand the difference between what is written to him and what is written for him so that when he reads the Old Testament he does not desire expired milk no matter how great it looks. There is a difference between the old and the new and it starts with communication, in the Old Testament God spoke by third parties but in the new dispensation he spoke by himself in his son. The quality of your relationship cannot be better than the quality of your communication. Jesus bridged the gap between God and man. In Him, we are directly linked to the Father. His death burial and resurrection changed the dynamics. We are no longer strangers or outsiders, we are sons of God. There are believers who still have long distance relationships with God, utilizing third parties and mediums but God has given us his direct line, you need knowledge to take advantage of it.
